1....How long can you store them for a really good hatch?
2....Why do you have to turn them? & how often per day?
3....What temp. should they be stored at?

Thanks!!!!

I'd like to add a question to this inquiry:

Any reason not to store them in the turner which can (when full) be popped right into the heated up 'bator?

Thanks

Susan

Nevermind, I read a bit farther along and found that this IS recommended....

Monday I will start collecting Salmon Faverolle eggs for incubating. They (Charley and his five Hens) will have been in the breeding pen for four weeks by then....

1. Store them for 7-10 days. After 7 days their viability goes down, but I have stored them for 14 days, to hatch them myself, with no problems.

2. Turn them 3 times per day at the least. Just make sure its an odd number.

3. around 50-55 degrees.

1- no longer than 7 to 10 days, but I have heard of people storing them up to 14 days.
2- I turn mine once a day, and have no problems with hatching.
3- I store mine at room temp, usually around 70* to 72*

YES YES and YES oh ya and yes less that 7 days is best i trun mine once a day also and have had no problems and yes they will stick if you dont and room temp is fine but undre 68 is best and above 45. 50 is better.

Thanks!!

I have good luck storing them up to 7 days. Beyond that I do not know, have not tried it. Also I keep them anywhere from 45 to 70 degrees F. with no problem.
