Hatching egg Updates for HollyInColorado!

I went and bought a new Sportsman and so I have plenty of space in there so I'm hatching eggs for HollyInColorado. So I wanted to post her updates and let her know how her eggs are doing.

She sent me 12 black Ameraucana eggs and 12 White silkie eggs shipped from Smoky73

I put the eggs in 1/23/09

I candled them 1/28/09 - Silkies 5 show perfect growth & 7 were not fertile.

Ameraucana eggs showed 9 growing and 2 were clear & 1 had a blood ring.

I will update as I go for Holly so she can keep updated. I may even hook up a cam so she can see her eggs hatch online.

Well one Ameraucana is out! I'm waiting on the others.

I have chicks all over the place! 8 Black Copper Marans hatched & 9 Showgirls so far with the shipped eggs. I have about 40 of my own that hatched so far with more in the Sportsman.

I will keep you updated.

Sorry not all the eggs developed, I have a lot of white girls, sometimes they do not get them all.

Fertility has been much better now, plus I am AIing as well.

Good luck, hope the rest of the developers hatch!!!

I wouldn't have known what to do with myself had they all developed, so please no apologies! I know how hatching shipped eggs goes. I am thrilled to get a few of such nice, nice birds! Can't wait to get my hands on them!

I kind of figured with any silkie eggs and yours are the big fluffy pretty ones so that is the risk with them you have to take.

Holly we have a few more pips and I'm sure there will be a bunch out by morning. I will keep you updated!
