Hoping they make it through the hatch. I would be super happy with just the 2 but I'd love to see more action!

They do need to hurry though..I have silkie eggs waiting to go in!

NOW 4 pips and they are talking to me more! I read to talk to them and since I started the 2 pipped within a couple minutes. Oohhhh Babies Make it make it!!! I sure hope they do!!

Now 6 out of 10 have pipped. I haven't seen progress though in them after their initial pip. Is that normal? I got home at like 9 or 9:20am when I first noticed them. Please make it babies!!

Sometimes chicks can take up to 24hrs to finish hatching. There are times when it only takes 20-30 minutes, others take hours, and some even take longer than 24hrs. I know it can be nerve racking, but hang in there.

I put my eggs in on Nov 1st so today is supposed to be hatch day for me, too. I had 10 eggs at lockdown but I'm pretty sure 1 was a quitter, and only one pip so far. The chick pipped yesterday around 1 PM so it's almost been 24 hours but since hatch day is today and I can still see it sticking it's beak out and breathing and chirping I'm just going to leave it alone and hope for the best! I think it's sort of trying to zip but it's taking forever!!

I could have sworn I heard a second chick peeping this morning but if it's pipped it must be on the bottom of an egg because I can't see...

I built my incubator from a cooler and ran it for 3 days before putting eggs in to make sure it stablized, but for some reason my thermometers went wonky yesterday (I had tested them in both the high and low humidity so I don't know what happened). Both thermometers are reading a 12 degree difference from one side of the foot long incubator to the other, even though I have a CPU fan and everything, and they definitely all were within 1 degree for the last three weeks! They're reading 1.5 degrees off from each other, too, but if they are accurate then I think one side of eggs might have gotten too hot and didn't make it.
