Omg he is sooo cute, I can tell he is a duck but what kind? so we no have 4 completele hatched and 4 more pipped and several others moving like crazy, but i had one hatch with something wrong with him and wanted to see if anyone else encountered this problume
This is of the baby chick
I have 5 silkies in lockdown now. They are due on Thanksgiving.
Colors unknown
I did not buy from BYC. MY BIG MISTAKE.
Hoping these pull through.
Congratulations to everyone who has had a hatch!
Does anyone know where I could get some Dutch Booted Bantams?
After no progress with pipping I chipped off a small piece and you could see it, so I went through them one by one as they looked "ready" for me to check behind the pip and all were shrink wrapped. So I tryed to moisten them and helped chip away some shell. I now have 7 hatched out, 6 are hobbling all over the bator. 1 is weak and not doing much. 2 eggs left 1 is about 1/4 out...also shrink wrapped, so it is wrapped in a wet paper towel right now, the other one I can hear them tapping. The last egg was a quitter and we got rid of it.
The active babies are too cute! They will climb on top of the other eggs and just fall asleep!
About my weak chick...keep watching or is there something I should do? Its been out for a few hours and isn't trying to move. It kicked away its shell and now its just tuckered out. Still alive though.
The thing now kinda just came out and looks like a little bit of the yolk and it is bleeding, then we had another come out like it but as long as he is fighting i will help him fight!!!
I want him to make it but when it comes to this i "try" not to get attached even though it never works.
