Hatching Eggs from Miss-Jayne - Mahonri & ChevygirlBeth

Thanks, Miss_Jayne. I just wanted to be sure. I'll probably go through and really clear out the incubator between now and day 18.

I'm glad you got at least 2 out of the 6! I have 4 out of my 6 for so far, so I guess we're around 50% when you combine both batches (I have 1 maybe, so it could go a little higher). I put 12 more guinea eggs in the bator (since I have a hatcher now so I can do that!), so we'll see how they do. If you decide you want more guinea eggs, just let me know and I'll send some your way.

Lol... you are so funny! I'm sure we're all glad that you're enjoying all of your gifts!

Candling results Day 18

Eggs from Lady Jayne: 2 of 6 chicken eggs fertile and growing. All of the duck eggs still in.

I still have to candle them after the chickens hatch. I left one row of turners in for them.. I hope hatching chicks with them in there won't be a detriment to either chicks or ducks.

The last two remaining, Australorp, Jane w/ no last name, and the Leghorn!

Eggs from Dipsy Doodle Doo: 15 of 16 Blue/Black/Splash Ameraucanas doing great!
must have been a direct flight from SC to Phoenix!

Lost 1... looked like it had developed to maybe day 10 and then quit.

Eggs from Melissa: 4 of 12 Wheaten/Blue Wheaten Ameraucanas growing.
4 of 6 Salmon Faverolles growing.

Jane w/no last name is one of my two I have left as well! The other is the bantam egg... it looks questionable, but I'm hesitant to pitch it just yet.

I'm not thinking my ducks are having much luck. What do yours that are developing look like at this point? I pitched 2 duck eggs tonight - 1 was scrambled and 1 had like a vein that started but did nothing after that. I also had to pitch a duck egg from my cousin... it was scrambled looking and looked like it had a blood spot in it or something. A dark blob with no veins to it or anything.

I think someone handled our packages from Miss_Jayne roughly somewhere along the way! Congrats on the other eggs you have in the bator! Glad they're doing good! I'll soon be on day 18 myself... I'm excited!

Like I said, we kept the duck eggs in one tray of the turner (removed the rest of the trays so I could put in cartons)... Next Tuesday when I pull all the chicks out we will candle the duck eggs. I'm wishing now I would have washed them just a little cuz I think its gonna be hard to see through a couple of them.... even with my Lenser.

i bought one of those uber bright flashlights! i can candle eggs in the regular light even! they are awesome!

have a duck egg pipped a day early here. can't wait to see!

anytime now for the guinea eggs from Beth! yippy!

We're due for a shopping trip (need some groceries... cupboards are getting bare!), so I need to remember to look for one of those flashlights!

Yay for your duck pipping! And I am excited for the guineas!
