I am looking at investing in hatching eggs for Black Copper Marans but would like to get from a reputable source since the last BCMs I got had an eye defect and were not good for breeding & raising new chicks. I would like to get Cottage Hill line from all that I have read and have found some at Sweet Pea Farm in CT. Does anyone have any experience with this business? Their eggs are a little higher than other places I have seen but they have Cottage Hill in the "label" of what they offer. Also looking at Gabbard Farms in AK but they do not have the lineage of their BCM listed. Have sent them an e-mail to find out.

RIP - Abelard & girls - BCM who died as a result of a neighborhood pet owner letting their Pit Bull dog run loose. It chewed a hole through our chicken wire enclosure and killed our beautiful chickens just for the fun of it.
