So Cal high desert near Mojave
Hello...
Has anyone hatched eggs in the house with a swamp cooler running?
I live in the So Cal high desert, with very low humidity, and have just started running my swamp cooler, as temps are creeping up to 100 deg (by August they could be 110 deg).
I want to start hatching eggs, but am worried about the humidity change that takes place when the cooler is turned on, and what effect it would have on the egg incubator.
Any advice or suggestions would be welcome.
Thank you.

I would suggest you start your incubator empty or with some water bottles, or something similar in it, and test it with and without the swamp cooler running. Find out the effects before putting in any eggs.

My incubator doesn't change much when we run the cooler. I do dry hatch and my humidity stays around 30-35% inside my home made incubator, cooler running or not.

You should always run your incubator for at least 24 hours before you load it with eggs. this will also give you time to monitor humidity in your particular situation.
