Today is day 23 of my hatching journey. And only one egg has just started hatching, they are polish bantams do they normally take this long to hatch. They are under one of my hens who has hatched and raised chicks for me for many years. Does anybody have a suggestions what is wrong.

What I would do, is take a bright light, and shine it through each of the eggs, if you see a beak inside of the air sac I would give it a little bit longer, I would also check if the egg is moving during when you check the egg. If you wait and no progress is made, but there is a beak inside the air sac, id recommend making whats called a safety hole, this guide I just sent a link for is very helpful if you dont see them making any progress after a little while

https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/guide-to-assisted-hatching-for-all-poultry.72886/

if after the safety hole there is still no more progress after a while, id follow the guide and possibly do an assisted hatch

although im relatively new to assisted hatching, so I think it would be helpful if anyone else who is a little bit more experienced in assisted hatching would help out also, because ive only ever assisted call duck eggs, and it is a little bit of a different experience due to call duck eggs almost always needing to be assisted

Glad to here one hatched! Sometimes eggs just hatch a little late. Shipping could be a factor for why they hatched late. Mom will cluck to them and the chirping of the other hcick should encourage the others to hatch. Hopefully you see some more pips soon!
