We are at day 27, and awaiting the hatching eggs in the incubator. We just wiped the eggs off with a damp cloth when placed in the incubator. We keep the incubator in our spare bedroom and the smell is not pleasant.

For our next batch, should I was them gently with just water?

I watched a Youtube video and he used a mild iodine solution?

Suggestions?

There shouldn't be a strong smell, let alone a bad sting smell. My quail eggs had a 'baby smell' to them, but that was it. I really don't know how to describe it, but it was just nice smell. Until one poppes, then it smelled like rot and death until we found the culprit. Then back to the baby smell

I had one bad egg and removed it from the incubator. I will find out in the next couple of days and will keep you updated.

My first ever duckling is hatching, we can hear the peeps and it is breaking the shell near the larger end. It currently has about a 3/8" hole in the shell. I am taking time laps images. Hope they turn out.

Thanks for all your help everyone.
