How long does it take for eggs to hatch and also when they do hatch, if you're leaving the babies with the mother do you still get the non medicated chick starter for them?

21 days of incubation to hatch, hatch from pip to chick can be 6-24-48 hours. Your choice on medicated feed or not, most med feeds contain only an anti antiprotozoal coccidiostat to prevent the reproduction of the cocci protozoa inside the gut. It does not kill cocci, just limits their nunbers.

So if you give chicks a probiotic supplement, yogurt, or fermented feed, you don't need the medicated feed. This whole time I thought it killed the cocci! Or really as long as they are living in clean spaces they shouldn't need medicated.
