I have tried 4 different time to hatch eggs but never did i get a live chick. Eggs are fertile and the embryo is dead inside the egg.
Fully developed but dead. My cousin had a 68 per cent hatch from the same flock. The only difference was that he set the incubator in his garage were I set the small incubator in the study. Now i have wi-fi in the study. I am at wits end as to what may be going on. I followed the instructions to a T. I worked at a small town hatchery in my youth. Probably hatched 750k or more chicks over a 4 year time. Help!!! .

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan

Look in the Learning Center for the Hatching 101 article, it is very helpful when incubating and has tons of useful information. It sounds like you are having incubator problems.

Heat was 99.5, plenty of water, turned eggs twice a day. Washed hands, every thing done what i think was correct.

Welcome to BYC!

The process of incubation is everything. You have to know your temp is correct and monitor your humidity. If the embryo's are dying early on, then the temps are either too high or too low. If they are dying late and during lock down or pipping, your humidity was either too high, too low or you are not drawing in enough oxygen for them to hatch.

Definitely do some reading in our learning center here on BYC on incubation and maybe you can glean something from this article...

Good luck on the next hatches. If you have any questions or run into trouble, that is what we are here for.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! X3, it sounds like you have incubator problems. You might use a thermometer that records high and low temps in case of spikes when you aren't there. Can you borrow another incubator to try?

I think i will hang it up after four tries. My cousin used the same incubator as I. His hatch was 65-70%. He used the garage as i used my study in the house. Humidity may be too low in the a/c house.
