Fused toes happen. That won't change.None of them had any trouble walking, the their toes are still fused. Their last two, extra toes on all three of them. They have no problem getting around or flying. Hope your baby is just tired.

Does the chick have curled toes? I've had good luck with using band aids as footwear to straighten them out.How long til your toes straightened out? We missed our 3 week old hatch, & never noticed her toes, but the one that just hatched seems to be having a hard time walking, and the feet are just all over crooked. It's only a couple of hours old, so I'm hoping things straighten out
In the pictures countrygirl1714 posted? Those had partially fused 4th and 5th toes. That's just a cosmetic issue, not one that will cause any problems.I don't see any problems with them. Maybe just the pic? I'll try to get some of my new chick

It is hereditary. Those are not that bad. I certainly would not throw out an otherwise nice bird because of it!Is it hereditary to have fused toes, will I be able to breed them?

I agree! Beautiful chickies!!!!!!! I taped up the feet. I used bandage tape because I figured it wasn't quite so sticky. It seems to be doing ok with the big feet. Luckily it just hatched this afternoon, so it's sleeping a lot, and not trying so hard to get around. I'll leave it on for a couple of days, and see how they are. I'm not really surprised about it, because our rooster has a middle toe that goes sideways.
