Years ago we would incubate eggs and some of the chicks would hatch with curled toes... Does anyone else have this problem and what causes it?

Curled toes can mean the temp was to high.

Ok that would make sense. What is the ideal temp, I always had it set at 99.5 but I just got a new Thermometer because we think it was reading wrong.
