Hi! New here. I am egg sitting for my daughter and of course one egg has hatched while I'm on duty.
Chick did fine. Seemed all was well.
Piece of shell was stuck to butt area. I had let it be in the incubator, and it snagged on the plastic grate. Got chick out, use warm water paper towel, carefully got clean and remaining shell off. But then it bleed for a bit. Less than a minute. Made sure to put in her hatchery tub, checked temp, removed food and out in water feeder heated to about 90-95 degrees. Is there anything else I should do?

How's the chick doing? For quicker replies you might want to jump onto one of the hatch a long threads. They are very populated with experts in practically everything you need to know.

I only hatched my first batch recently and had one with debris stuck to the butt. It tends to fall off on it's own so I left it - but if it was snagging, that's a different story. Good luck with the rest of the hatch :)

Thanks so much!
