hatching geese eggs

Balbinka - Oh she's really sweet and in beautiful feather perfect condition. I've always liked the Pyrrhura conures

Yes we have quita few parrots, my avatar is of a Greenwing Macaw we hand raised from the egg last year. Just paired up a fantastic large and colourful pair of Scarlet Macaws and caught them mating a few hours ago so fingers crossed

Our female was captive bred in the UK and our male was born in the Canary Islands (Spain). They're playful but the male will bite and hard

Had a 2010 Buff goose paired with a grey gander firing blanks

S me of you may recall that I did a 600 mile round trip two weeks ago to get a new 2 year old Canadian line gander. They stick together and I saw him nibbling her back but thats all so thought it was a waste of time. Just candled her last 3 eggs I put in the incubator and they're all fertile!!!

So he only took a week to settle in before sucessfully mating her - thats quick for a Dewlap

The unfortunate thing is that I only have 1 more egg that I've set today and now think she may have now gone out of lay! Never mind at least its the chance of another baby boy split for Buff and on a new line

It just shows you can switch mates mid-breeding season and have some sucess even it is only 3 eggs

LOL it's OK!
I just love your entire setup and collection of birds!

ok here is the final results.

6 eggs made it to lockdown.

the first one to internally pip was the first to externally pip and hatch on its own. in less than 12 hrs from external pip to fully dry. i was sleeping lol. i missed the whole thing.

as for the 2nd egg it internally pipped i waited 36 hours to help. i externally pipped the shell with pea sized hole. on day 30 it was dead in shell on morning of day 31. it had mage no progress. i think it was just too weak not meant to hatch.

none of the other 4 eggs internally pipped. none showed any movement pass day 28. the were in postion to internally pip but just didnt.

and for cuteness here is uno with her brooder mate a 10 day old butter call duck.
