Hatching Geese

Hi eveyone, I’m new to this. My boyfriend and I went and bought about 6 geese eggs. Only two pipped and cracked. The first one didn’t make it but the second one was better off. This second one would chirp like crazy trying so hard to get out but it had stuff oozing out of the egg. It began trying to hatch Monday early morning and was still trying to get out with not much progress Tuesday or Wednesday so Wednesday night after work I helped it out. Turns out that the Ozzy stuff was dried onto it’s feathers and still won’t come off but I got everything off best I could. I put the goose back in the incubator with moist rags and it used it’s beak to drag itself around. I heard that geese take awhile to get strength but his one foot is still closed up so he can’t walk on it. He’s slowly getting strong enough to keep his head up and drag himself more but is still really wet and still not making progress on that one foot. I wasn’t sure if anyone else had experienced a problem like this? Also since he’s still so wet should I wait longer than 24rs to move him to brooder? Thank you.

Those are always hard to deal with. I take them out and dry them under the heat lamp, give them a little sugar water, and put them in the brooder.
