Never hatched out geese before so please help me with the goose eggs i will be getting soon. Here are my questions. I have hatched out ducks before but i have heard geese are really difficult and i have looked on here and there are people saying one thing and another person saying to do something completly different. Im just looking for a straight answer please!

1- What should the humidity and temp be day 1-35?
2- When do i stop turning them?
3- How long do i leave them out for and on what day do i start letting them cool off?
4- What do i do on the last few days of the incubation?
5- I have a LG and is that ok to use?
6- How often do i turn them?
7- Anything else i need to know? please tell me as much as you can to help me!!

As far as cooling off, I let them cool off after misting them for 10 minutes after the fourth day.
I have used an LG though for the first week of that, four of them were in a Lyons TX (til the fan went), seven out of eight hatched in the LG.
I turned them three times a day, temps were 99, humidity was 50 to 60 percent until three days before, then upped it to 75.
I stopped turning them three days before hatch and left them on lockdown until hatch.
Hope this helps a little.

I just hatched a goose. 4 were given to me and 3 ended up not forming at all. I did about the same, temp 99, humidity 50 to 55, pulled the turner out on day 28 & upped the humidity to 60 +. I was doing chicken eggs also and after no word from my goose, and all the chicks were out, I went to "discard" the unpiped eggs and my goose started hollering! I left her alone and she pipped within hours.

I would suggest a higher humidity. The lining was very thick and it dried out quickly. I had to hatch her. It was cool and scary.

There is an awesome post in the search for helping that gves the "directions". It was a success and she is doing very well today (this was last night)

I am not aware of a "cooling off" period...what is this? I may need to know if I can get some more local eggs.

I understand it to be 35 days, but mine took 38...so don't give up too soon, like the chickens. I actually thought it was dead days before she actually spoke to me! I only left her in there "just in case" and I am sooooo glad I did!! They are so darn cute!!

Good luck!!
