Hatching Guineas for the first time! It's Day 26!

Update: Day 28.

The situation with the two batch/difference humidity needs that we discussed yesterday bothered me.....so I was at Tractor Supply this morning when they opened and bought a second incubator. The 6 Day-28 eggs are in the new one, the newer ones are being turned at the lower humidity rate in the older one.

It's Day 28, and no activity from my six eggs, although candling last week looked good. Any reason to be concerned at this point? Is it common for them to be Day 28 or later? I have had them at 99.5 degrees in a still air incubator all this time. They were turned by hand 3-6 times a day. Am I obsessing? lol

Also, keeping the humidity up seems to be a challenge. I've got the troughs filled with water, and wet cellulose sponges. Is there anything else to be done? I have a cheapo hygrometer in there. Maybe that's the issue.

Oh man Tar.... still air incubation temp needs to be at 101.5-102 degrees during incubation, then drop it 1 degree during lockdown. Those eggs may go to day 30 before pipping, if they even try to hatch. And if they do hatch, the keets may have leg and curled toe problems or other issues. Misting the eggs lightly with a fine mist mister bottle helps with humidity, don't soak them tho.

Turn those incubators up and hope for the best

I can't find my LG instructions, but if I remember right they were pretty vague.

If these hatches fail for you, I highly suggest adding fan kits to your LGs before putting in your next batch of eggs. Or if you have a PC fan (you may be able to find one for free or have one on hand already?) those work too. I used a PC fan and a power supply from an old cordless phone base in my LG that I use for a designated hatcher. It just took 4 long thin bolts with nuts, 4 washers, 4 1/4" spacers, some electrical tape to splice the power wires together and I made sure to face the output of the fan up at the roof of the hatcher (spacers in between), not blowing down on the eggs. It works fine, my hatches are always good.
