Hatching has begun!!

Hi everyone!!

We lost one more between day 16 and 21 - not sure why, but everybody was well and moving when we locked down on Saturday.

Last night was our first pip - so far no further progress, but lots of moving and peeping!

This little one pipped this morning on the wrong side - head away from air cell. But its still moving around really well and peeping so I think we're okay.

And this last little guy pipped about 20 mins ago!!

I'm so excited. 3/12 have pipped, and everyone else is wriggling like mad!

Update: Egg 4 has pipped, egg 1 has started zipping!

We have baby number one!!!

And now they've rolled everyone else around so I cant tell which eggs are what anymore lmao but we have lots of pips and lots of peeps!

And meet baby number two!!
I believe these are the black swedish eggs - but these babies look a bit lighter colored to me.

Baby 1 is named Trex - short for Tyrannosaurus Rex. Baby 2 is named Microraptor - she's the smallest egg of the bunch.

4 more have pipped and at least 1 is zipping so we will have more babies by morning!

Last baby is out!! I had 3 fail to hatch and confirmed they were deceased before removing them. The last guy had a malposition and needed some assistance but is now very strong and mobile. I'll get a better photo when they're dry!

Update: the khaki triplets have hatched!! I put them in the brooder with the other 6 because they're only 3 days apart so hopefully there isnt too much bullying.
