Hatching heartbreak

So sorry for your loss. You may be right about the cause of an egg that broke inside her.

Maybe you could just mention that chickens are so fragile next to people that they need to be touched very gently. I know your son wouldn't have realized what may have caused it.

Oh I do tell him multiple times a day every day that he can gently pet the chickens but do not grab them or he can hurt them. He's getting better about it but he's 4 and has a bit of a developmental delay so sometimes it takes a while for him to really get it.
