Hatching in egg cartons

So I set 30 eggs in egg cartons in incubator only got 8 baby chicks.... So I was curious what happened ???? I usually get good hatches .. I opened remaining eggs babies were half grown and all were dead ???? I need help if anyone knows about hatching in cartons ???

Yes , I propped one side up then alternating 2x day..

The babies that was born was all sticky and thick mucus on them. But they seem well now.

When you say you propped one side up, then alternate, can you explain in more detail?

Ok yes I was trying the egg carton in incubator this year . So I read put pointy side down and alternate side propped up 2x a day.

as long as you didn't turn the eggs pointy side up any that would def be a no no, but i'm wondering how you could change the position of the eggs that way since the egg cartons don't have any room for tipping the eggs any. usually the eggs would need to be tilted back and forth.

That's what I was thinking ,that they wasnt getting a good rotation I think I'll stick to hand turning, no cartons...

they sell egg turners for pretty cheap now days, you can try to get one of those, they are great!
