My hen decided to set on eggs in a nest about 3 feet high. Do I need to remove her and the chicks immediately when hatched? If so do I remove her from the flock of 10 hens & 1 rooster or just add something lower in the same coop? My flock is cooped during the night and work hours and free range weekends and evenings. Thank you.

the height is not a problem but I would definitely create a separate brooder. my hens made short work of a chick that got separate from it's mom when I had the door open, unfortunately I didn't notice. within a few minutes they had dismembered it, swallowed it's head whole and were playing tug of war with it's wings... I was horrified.
