Hatching journey - my silkie babies

Well, could be pretty much anything, though I requested extra lavender (self blue) and also wanted a paint one and a porcelain, so it will be a surprise as none of the eggs are marked! The breeder I got from has a huge outfit and they keep all their color pens separated. They usually send a mix of everything they have.
Good luck with the new ones coming!:)

I was told that the dark one was a blue splash/lavender and the light was blue/chocolate. Eggs were marked as such. Thoughts on chicken colour genetics here? Seems wrong to me 🤣

Pics would help 😅

Congratulations on the 2 new littles! I think the one you are calling a splash lavender is what we call porcelain over here. (lavender and buff genetics, though do not breed true), the lighter colored one. Not sure about the other maybe blue or grey? I have not heard of the colors you describe, may be just different in the US. I will look again when they fluff up a bit more!
They are cute nonetheless! :loveHope you got some rest. I just culled 5 of my lavender ameraucana eggs, early quitters here at day 11 and one of my Marans, which was infertile, at day 15, too hard to tell earlier due to the dark shells.
Silkies though are going strong with 5 days to go!:wee

Hi all!

4/4 hatched :D. Now I can breathe (some assisting was required)

OK, so the breeder labelled Miso's egg as chocolate/blue and Ume's as blue splash/lavender - any idea on the actual colour? (pretty sure Yakisoba and Temago are white as expected).
