Hello, I have 2 female Muscovy ducks that are currently broody and sitting on some eggs. They've only been doing this for a week, but I live in Northern Ontario. Will it be too cold for them to hatch? I've never hatched ducks or chickens before and we aren't using an incubator. I'm letting the girls do it themselves. They share a coop with 2 males ducks and another female but they don't seem to bother with the 2 females. Any info would be very helpful. Thanks in advance. :)đź‘Ť

Just remember muscovys take longer (35ish days) to hatch their breed of eggs! Also I'm having issues with my muscovys smushing and suffocating the babies as they hatch accidentally. Keep a close eye on them when hatch day approaches!

Are they in an insulated area? How cold do you get? Do they have nesting boxes/straw to nest in? One of mine shes a lot of down feathers to insulate their nest which goes a long way in keeping temps even for the eggs! The other doesn't at all. Not sure why.
