Hatching on day 20

So, I set 6 eggs on 3/19 ( I know it was the 19th, because I teased my Dad that these were his b'day present! ) at 12:00 noon. They are pipping today, day 20 and are sure to hatch completely as they're chipping away quite rapidly. The eggs I set in March pipped and hatched on day 21.

Same incubator, same temps.

Anyone else have hatching on Day 20? My babies that hatched last fall under their Mama were day 21....puzzled.....

It usually has to do with higher temps at some point during incubation. Thermometers are not always accurate and they do go bad. I only have experience with duck eggs, but an early hatch doesn't mean that the chicks will die. I have read others having early hatches and ok chicks.

I'm on day 19 and have four chicks out already. My last hatch was early too.

The first one just came out!
It's a bantam cochin cross...my buff hen X partridge/gold laced cochin roo

she's (because I know I only hatch out girls, hehe) gold and black...absolutely precious.

The others in the 'bator are my roo, above and a porcelain d'uccle, mille fluer d'uccle, and a sultan, all bantams

can't wait for them to all come out!
