Hatching ONLY for fun?

I just started hatching this year and became immediately addicted but knew almost as immediately that I cannot keep all these chicks I hatched. So far, I've had 3 batches hatched for others. Due on the 7th are 21 Polish Frizzles. I had stayed in contact with the folks I bought hatching eggs from. I let them know I had a 100% hatch after removing the non-fertiles and so they asked me if I would hatch some for them. That's what gave me the idea. The 21 eggs due are theirs and having removed 1 non-fertile and 2 with blood rings, there is life in all remaining! They are as excited as I am to see these babies!

I have 2 small styrofoam incubators with fans. So, when they are in use, I remove my ad until about the last 3 days of incubation and then replace the ad. Highly addicting!

The previous home owner had chickens for five years without any issues, that's how I got hooked. One of my neighbors even chicken sits for me! I give eggs to all of my neighbors (I don't eat eggs anymore

). My city is no longer prosecuting people who violate the law unless someone complains. Chickens in the city CAN be permitted, at a cost of $2000, which I would be willing to pay for my girls if it came to it. And yes, I do have friends on the outskirts of town that can and will take chickens (I had to order ten when I first got mine).
