Oh Jaynie, go for it! If you have the room and time to grow out the chicks, then set those eggs and see if they are fertile. Chickens = Love and everyone needs more love.
I must have spent ten minutes this morning picking up as many of my laying hens as would tolerate it. My favorite hen is one of my Red Sex-Links named Lucy. Lucy loves to be picked up and cuddled. She will even rest her little head on my chest. Ahhhhh... chicken love, how unconditional.
Coty Jo, you go ahead and be a "bad girl" if you want to be (i.e.,throw some eggs in an incubator). Just remember Santa is watching, but maybe you'd rather have a lump of coal to heat your house this winter than have what the good girls are getting this Christmas.
