We are successfully get chicks to the hatching stage but they are pipping and not getting out. Do we have a humidity problem? We have used 2 different incubators and similar problems. Our chicks that do make it out do not dry out very well. Any help appreciated

Hello and welcome to BYC!

I moved your thread to our Incubation forums for more help.

It's either a humidity level issue or a ventilation issue.

All vents need to be wide open at lock down, the chicks need a ton of oxygen at this stage.

Humidity needs to be somewhere around 60 to 65%, this softens the shell and lining so they can break through. Also prevents them from sticking to the inside of the shell.

Do you know what percent your humidity is at hatch (lockdown)? I aim for 60-70. It could also be humidity during the main part of incubation. I dry hatch, but I think 30-45 is good to aim for.
