Hatching Q on mailed eggs - Ayam Cemani

Now the 2nd chick which was doing ok just a small pip hole got super dry & starts dto shrink wrap from me opening the incubator to get the bleeding egg out. So I had to open some of the shell and outer member and stretched the inner membrane some around the face incase it shrinked again it would not block the air ways till I could assist. Having been up from 8pm-4am watching and checking theabsorption it finally hatched. I had to roll back some of the inner membrane when it was time and that little one just pushed off & rocked out of that she'll in just a few minutes. Fingers crossed so far seems normal and peeping his lungs out.

Yeah!!!!

How are things today???  Sounds like you are doing well at this...even with the lack of sleep.( I drew 2 hours last night and 5 the night before...still have only the one. I am going to candle soon and see if I can see anything.) Post your pics when they come out!

Hows your hatch coming, hopes it improving for you. It's so hard to feel so helpless, until it's life or death time :(

I am sorry for the loss of your one chick & so happy that the other came out great!

I am still stuck...my one I assisted is doing great! The others in the incubator..nothing. No movement, no pips, nada and I can't see well enough when I candled them yesterday to know whether they need more time or saving....Day 22 ends in a couple hours. So, I have not been sleeping and have been doing a ton of reading.

It is tuff when a fully formed chick dies in the egg . I've started helping the late pips to get their heads out. I hatched a lot of shipped eggs last summer. Only had two bad batches, of course one was the most expensive batch of svart eggs. Luckily he gave me credit towards chicks

These were shipped too. Only one was cracked but the air cells weren't intact. You could see from the box it took a good hit somewhere. The shipper did a great job bubble wrapping. I followed the recommendations to a T for detatched air cell eggs. Some never attached. 17 eggs..one hatched. $60 eggs and $150 incubator setup.

I am going to take a little peek into one of the air cells and see where it looks like I need to go.

Today is day 23 for me, I was freaking out on day 21 but did a lot of reading and found people saying shipped eggs can go to day 25. I wanted to assist these last 2 and should have gone with my gut, but was sticking to the info in the assistance post I was reading (which was spot on for everything else). I figured my nerves where making me want to jump the gun & with the time (only 1.5 hrs) looked like that was the correct thing to do. I am going to be buying a new incubator with a full clear too so this hopefully will never be able to happen again.
I still have 2 that have no internal pip or movement or noise so I think by late this am.I will try the float test. Just need to take a little nap and center myself first. Fingers crossed for your remaining eggs purpletie3

All 3 are together and doing good (enjoying running through the food dish!) & the little one is getting stronger. He's a noisy little one too. Unfortunately the belly of the last one is all white :( hoping it will go away when the feathers come in but maybe not his mouth is also grey not black, but he/ she is alive so it's a win!
