Hi everyone i am new to this site. I have an incubator and in it i have 40 quail eggs. Is it ok if i turn the eggs on the first day? Because somewhere i saw that you have to let 3 days pass to start turning them and by mistake i turned them on day 1 and on day 2 shall i keep turning them ? Thanks

Welcome to BYC. I'm glad you decided to join our flock. I'm a chicken person and don't know much about quail (never had any), but they sure are cute little birds. TwoCrows, who raises quail, will probably be along soon to greet you and hopefully she can answer any questions you may have. Also, you can post on our quail section at https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/48/quail and take advantage of our quail experts there. You might also try posting on our Incubating and Hatching Eggs section at https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/5/incubating-hatching-eggs. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your quail hatch.

Welcome!
Quail are among the easiest eggs to hatch. The "3 day" rule is just that they don't need to be turned, but it doesn't hurt and might even help. If the eggs were shipped, there is often a recommendation to keep them upright in a carton hoping the air cells re-attach. I have hatched shipped quail eggs without knowing that, and I believe the smaller eggs suffer less in shipping, so I don't think that is going to be an issue with yours.

Let us know how the hatch turns out. Baby quail are so fun to watch.

We're glad to have you.

Sorry, I don't know anything about quail. But, good luck with the incubation and hatch!
