I have a very slow hatch going on. My first one hatched last night at midnight - the second one hatched about 5 p.m. - I have a couple more I expect to be out in the next hour or two - and then another several that are actually due tomorrow. My second one came out with a big red protusion on his bum. I assumed it's umbilical material of somekind - but the bird hatched 18 hours early finds that very attractive. (He has already eaten quite a bit of his shell and the soft material from the new hatchling). He was chasing this new baby everywhere just to bite his butt and it was getting a bit bloody - so I made it dark in there (I covered up the viewing windows). This seems like a silly thing to ask but is dark ok? Would it be ok for tomorrow? Any thoughts or better ways to deal with this?

Thanks for your help!
Jenny
