Hatching questions... First timer.

I checked on her and she was mostly out of the shell... I don't know if it was by her own doing or mama's. The mama was pecking at it and pulling on it's toes so I have since put it in a box with heat lamp. Her breathing seemed labored so hopefully she'll make it to morning! Thanks all for the great help!

Woke up this am and this is what I found! Much better looking. Went to check on the mama and there was another chick! I'm so happy!

Glad it lived!

I had a similar problem after the hen pooped a huge broody poop and had to clean it up so it wouldn't get on the chicks. I discover a similar "half baked" egg.

I misted it with a water spray bottle a few times to moisten the membrane and gently released the chick from the shell and got it back under the hen.

Nature took care of the rest.
