Hello everyone,

I am currently hatching my first batch of pekin ducks via an incubator. This is our status currently.

Duck 1 hatched yesterday morning and is completely dry.
Duck 2 just hatched a few minutes ago.
Eggs 3 & 4 are just starting to pip.

Duck 1 looks ready to come out (she's dry, very active and eating the freshly hatched ducks egg remains). Im concerned because she has already eaten her egg remains and i don't want her to leave Duck 2 with nothing.

Is it OK if I pull her out now?

TIA

Don't take out duck 1. It will cause the egg shell to wrap around the ducklings in the pipped eggs because the humidity will go down.

Just sayin' here, not claiming to be an expert but I take mine out of the the incubator as soon as they rest then start moving around a lot. I also take out the nasty egg shells. Sometimes not longer than an hour after hatch.
