I am currently trying to hatch seramas for the first time, and they are shipped eggs as well. I have 9 out of 14 that are developing well on day 7. I have heard they are a lot harder to incubate/hatch than other chickens and that the chicks can be harder to care for as well. Curious what everyone else’s experience has been?

Yes, the eggs seem touchier to hatch especially in an incubator, but if your incubator holds a stable temperature and humidity you have a good chance at a good hatch. Once hatched I do not find them any more difficult to raise than other breeds and I raise micros. The first four days are when chicks die if the haven't developed correctly, after that I rarely have a chick perish.

Good luck with your hatch.
