Hatching Shipped Eggs

Wow, I did not know that... I'm just rebuilding a new flock after re-homing my last one (hawks were picking them off), my birds free-ranged during the day and went to coop at night, so I guess they were getting the nutrition they needed. They also had free choice feed and lots of table scraps (they were a spoiled rotten bunch!).

I would take a small dropper and offer the chick some water w/nutri drench...just hold the dropper to the beak and let it trickle onto the beak some....

Well I sure hope it recovers

that's a bummer...

I'm not sure - to be clear, you're talking about the spraddle leg chick? If she's doing ok, and is able, I'd put it under momma hen tonight....You might not be able to give it back, I'm not sure....

One time I had 2 chicks that got booted out of the nest just as they were hatching. I took them in the house and put them under a lamp and helped them finish....after they rested for a day, I tried to give them back, but momma didn't want them.... I put them in a wire cage and set them outside, near the coop, where the broodies and other chicks could visit with them. After a while, I noticed one of the other broody hens, was sitting next to the cage, watching those chicks. Later, I let them out (with me supervising) to see how the hen would react. At first she seemed unsure if she wanted them, but in a short time, she took them!

If you can't put the chick back under the broody tonight, you might try something like that and see if she'll take it...

LOL. I wouldn't put the spraddle leg chick back until/unless the brace was off. As for the other, I couldn't say without a better idea of what was going on with it.
