Hatching silkies

Hi my name is Anna and I'm new to all things chicken. We have two silkies one black one called Nando and a white one called Bod. Nando went broody we let her sit on a plastic egg for 2 weeks which she was dedicated to so for my birthday on 9 th June my husband brought me 6 miniature white Silkie eggs which we put under Nando. 1st July was hatch date!!! On that day we had two chicks which we have seen eating and drinking so both ok.It is now day 24 and Nando is still sitting on the other eggs? How long do we let her sit on them? We decided to let nature take its course and have not candled them. Oh I forgot to mention she seems to be sharing parenting with bod who hasn't left her side since day 6 she didn't try and steal any eggs but the chicks have taken to hiding under her as well as mum. Is this ok? Any advice much appreciated

Since two chicks have hatched and now it is three days later it is unlikely that any more eggs will hatch. As long as the hens get along with each other and are willing to share the chicks it will work fine. I had the same situation a few months ago and all worked out well; actually better than well. One hen took a few of the chicks in a nest box with a lip. Some of the chicks were unable to get into the nest (they were tiny serama chicks and I hadn't thought of the fact that they would not be able to enter a box that bigger chicks could readily enter). Without the other hen keeping them warm, I might have lost them.

Sorry new to this site and think I just posted an empty reply. I have had so much conflicting advice some said leave the eggs for 8 days then replace with day old chicks. Other said just take the eggs away. I don't want to upset Nando, if I take them away do I do it at night after they have roosted.
 
With new chicks to care for Nando will not be upset that you take the eggs whenever you wish. If two chicks hadn't hatched my advice would be to wait because it is easy to get hatch days messed up on the calendar. With two hatching days ago it is very unlikely that more will hatch; especially when there was only six to begin with. When there is many eggs, quite often one or two might hatch later.
