I put 18 eggs in a nesting box, my black australop decided to sit on them. 14 baby chicks..... put 8 eggs in the incubator, 7 baby chicks..... not bad for a newby chicken owner.... the natural hatched are 2 weeks old, the bators are 1 day old... now i gotta set up the brooder for the 1 day olds....it's alot easier/hassle free to do it natural, the mom keeps em warm etc... temps down to 10 degrees at night this week and they're all fine..... no more bator/brooder for me.... let mother nature do it.......

That's our plan ... as tempting as the incubators are, that's why we are raising Silkies! Be sure to post photos of the babies!
