I am on the outskirts of Dover about 2 miles from Hartly. I got some birds from him last summer and was very pleased! I will be making a trip over there again shortly

I've just set some silkie eggs for the first time. I have a few questions if you don't mind.
What was your humidity for the first 18 days and then the last 3?
Did they hatch at 20 or 21 days? I've been told both.

joy....run my humidity 50-53 first 18 and 70 -73 19 and 20th then up as close to 80 as possible on 21.(if i see a pip on day 19 i start to crank it to 80) seems to be a lot of different opinions on the "right" humidity...i can only say what has worked best for me..have hatched a fair amount of eggs..just recently went to using egg cartons and was pleasantly suprised ..for me better hatch rate and a lot cleaner.....i believe the type of bator being used is an issue as well with how humidity is dispersed throughout incubator...have used cabinet and hova's...just did a hatch in hova (didn"t have enough to justify one of the big ones)...i have several hydrometers and have placed them in tight pattern in one spot in a hova and all 4 were within 1%..take same meters and spread through different spots in hova and % diff of 6...have also found a temp variation on left and right side of hova as well ( i have 2 of them, a gqf and my fave is out of a pepsi fridge)
