I've hatched eggs a few times but I've never seen a pip at day 19. Too early for a pip? I have an assortment of eggs (brown, cream, white, green) and two green smaller eggs are on there way out. I was wondering if anyone else had pipping this early

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! I've had pips day 19 and then hatchers day 20. In fact my hatch last weekend I had a pip day 19 and this chick arrived along with another day 20 ~

21 days is just a guide and not set in stone. Sometimes a slightly higher incubation temp can cause an early hatch but this may not be the case all the time. When they are ready they are ready.
Here is a lovely article on incubating and hatching ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/hatching-eggs-101

Good luck with your future incubations and enjoy BYC :frow

@Yorkshire coop has had a lot of experience with incubating eggs. I never have (at least, not yet!) but wish you all the best with your hatch!

Nice to have you here with us!
