Hatching trouble,...?????

My hatch is on day 23. Last night I had one pipped and it was chirping and very lively. It had broke the shell,but not the membrane. When it broke the membrane I saw blood. From there on it sounded weaker and weaker and finally nothing

. What went wrong???

I have had other hatch just fine. Any info would be appreciated.

It sounds like you "helped" too soon. Chicks can take 12-48 hours to fully complete hatch. The incubator really shouldn't be opened during the pipping and hatching phase.

eta - the late pipping was likely due to low incubation temps. I would check the thermometer for accuracy.
