G'Day Team Broody
Pooman, I am most definitely not an expert and the following are just my thoughts.
How long do you think Dot was off the eggs? I have read stories of eggs still being viable after the hen left them for many hours.
If she is back on them now, I would be optimistic and trust that she knows what she is doing. Many times I was stressing because I thought Cilla had left her eggs too long (only 1/2 an hour or so lol) but obviously my stress was unfounded

I cannot help with the candling at all; read about it heaps but never tried it!
Any news Coops?
I wonder how TG is going also?
Howdy Liz; how are the family doing?
Cilla & Co are doing well .. gees, they are growing quick; I might try and get some more pictures soon. Thankfully Dusty has decided, once again, that being broody is not much fun and has gone back to her usual chicken duties. If she ever decides to stick it out more than a day, I am most definitely going to leave her for a broody-week before even thinking about trusting her with a hatch; she seems to lack commitment lol.
It is a little soon for celebrating but I do believe that Britney has turned the corner and may be on the road to recovery. This morning when she got up she was showing more interest in breakfast than she has for a week and unbelievably, no diarrhoea overnight. She actually shook her tail and had a stretch a couple of times which she has not done for a week. Her tail is not so droopy today. She is still sleepy/lethargic but I am hoping with all my heart that she is on the improve. She is moving around a bit more and I just checked on her, she is back at the breakfast-bar again!
I am not working today as I have a post-op appointment at the hospital and hopefully when I get back, she may have improved some more.
Go Team Broody!!
