Havahart trap.... FAIL.... =(

Well, i set up the trap with sardines in it for the past 2 nights. I woke up this morning, to find the trap shut. Im sure i didnt set it right. I left one door closed, and put the food on that far end. I didnt have the instructions, as i borrowed it from a friend. I downloaded the instructions today. I saw a site mentioned putting a heavy rock on the door so itll shut fast....

any comments, suggestions, anything?!?!? help me catch the skunk!!!!

I have an old double trap that seems similar to yours. I was trying to catch a pesky chipmunk. The trap would close, but the doors had enough "slack" for him to slip out.

I was able to catch him by leaving both sides open, but I placed rocks on top of the doors. When the trap sprung, the rocks slid down the doors and were heavy enough that he couldn't weasel his way out.

I would be extremly cautious live trapping a skunk it could turn out to be a real bad day

The only thing we have been able to trap in one of those traps is our cat. Stupid cat!

Find what hole its living in and fill it with water (hope you drown it)
Let it run far enough away to not get you and introduce it to uncle remington
