Have 2 settings in bator, 1 week apart , humidity ? For lock down help

I wasn't thinking about lock down when I added another batch of eggs to my bator. First time for consecutive hatch. My problem is I normally jump up the humidity From 33% to 70% at lock down. I'm concerned because my second hatch is 7 days behind. Will they be ok with the higher humidity? Both sets of eggs will be in same cabinet . I can control the humidity within 2% so should I just lower it to like 55-60 or what would you suggest ? Help

That is a really tough call, as you don't want to drown the next batch, but you don't want this batch to be shrink wrapped... I would say aim for 55 as humidity

im in the same boat i just add 4 eggs to my bator when the other 16 had been inthere for 5 days already 5 days diference whouls the humidity for lock down hunrt the ones that would be on day 13??

This is why you need another incubator. Even a cheap one. I have a incubator I used just for hatching so whenever eggs are ready to go into lockdown, I put them in. I have many different hatches going on right now. Try a dry incubation. Maybe that will help.

I did that before big mistake I end up getting one out of 7 eggs I ended up drownding fully developed chicks

now my dad calls me a murderer so I would keep humidity a little lower

I am right there with you. I think I may have killed a friend's eggs. I was incubating my silkies that hathed last weekend and hers were in the bator a week behind mine. Well my humidity went up to about 65-75% on average during my silkie hatch and her eggs were in there with mine. Not to mention that my eggs were hatching and flopping around bumping hers around. Well after the hatch I cleaned out the incubator and put hers back in the turner. I candled a few days ago and removed several eggs. She has 4 or 5 that I felt for sure were still alive. So now they are on day 20 and no pips, rocking, nothing. So did I drown them? Does the drowing occur during the middle of incubation or when they pip the air cell? Confused...

So I need a second incubator for hatching too. Happy Mothers Day to me... Honey.... hint... hint...

raise it for lockdown to 60% or 70% then lower it to 35% after hatching is done, then raise it to 60% 70% again for the second batch and all should be good..
