Have 21 chickens 9weeks young

Are they flying out of their pen or over a fence out of your yard? Nine weeks is little young to be clipping wings, but if they have full growth of their flight feathers already it's probably okay - I suggest you wait a few weeks if you can.

You're right about catching them after dark when they've gone to bed to clip them. Leghorns are flighty and athletic - light bodied birds!

Oh! Forgot to say

Thank you citycluck. They have just started flying up on the 6ft fence and only a couple of them. So wait if I can. T Y

I had to clip my Leghorn "Houdini" pretty young. She grew some of them back fairly quickly though, so I had to do it again about a week ago (she's now 22weeks).
I catch her at night after it's good and dark and she's all dopey (both times out of a tree, lol) and put a small towel on her head to keep it dark, then I turn on a small light in the kitchen (not the overhead fluorescent) and clip one side with SHARP scissors.

The dog thought this was the most interesting thing ever.
