I think the point of that post was that Beekissed doesn't do things she (you're female, right?) thinks make no sense just because everyone else does. And I'm in her corner on that one.

Actually, I've often wondered about the first guy who saw a calf nursing from a cow and thought, "Gee, I bet that would taste great!"

But, yeah, I've never really been a joiner on the expected or correct way to be. I've not really marched to the beat of a different drummer, I really never marched to a drum at all....I prefer bagpipes!

I've always wondered about that whole milk business as well.

I think that originally it was seen as a way to supplement a nursing human infant, allowed for a decrease in the time between offspring, and thus conferred a reproductive advantage to those people partaking in the activity. There are cultures today that see nothing wrong with the reciprocal relationship -- humans nursing baby livestock.
