The skin on the back of the neck is very bumpy. Sometimes that can be similar to the skin form of Mareks disease. Look at pictures 4 though 8 of the "gross lesions" section of this link which are pics of skin Mareks (pics are graphic):

Mareks disease can cause a lack of immunity to many common illnesses. It may cause paralysis in a leg or wing from nerve tumors, skin lesions, organ tumors, or eye changes.
