Hello there,
I have a mallard hen who started incubating eggs about 3 weeks ago. All but one of them was not viable for whatever reason but when candled, that one still looks good. So we gathered more eggs from our other duck hens that are not broody and put them under our broody hen along with the one egg that she has been setting for like 3 weeks.
My question is....if the one older egg does hatch, if we remove him to an artificial brooder, will she continue to set the rest of the eggs that are under her? Or should we take the egg that is further along off her before it hatches and put into an incubator to hatch? I'm just not sure if we leave the one "older" egg under her and it hatches, if she will keep setting the newer ones.

Appreciate anyone who has advice or experience on this.
