Hello everyone. I have a 18 week old blue sex link that has been spending a lot of time just sitting when she does walk around it's very slowly then she will go and sit for a while more. This has been going on for 6 days now. She is eating and drinking her eyes are bright. Her crop is emptying fine. I don't see any mites or lice on her. She was panting quite a lot the first few days. But her poop looked normal She is at the age that she may start laying but has not yet. This morning her poop looks like it may have egg yolk? See the picture in the replies. Her tail feathers are ruffled. She eats a diet of nature wise chick starter. Has organic scratch grain and cracked corn as treats. As well as vegetables and fruits sometimes. I have given her nutra drench and Epsom salt baths after the baths she perks up for a while but then she seems to go back to sitting a lot and moving slow. I de wormed 4 days ago with safeguard. I have put oil of oregano in her water. Also given electrolytes. Because I had 2 chickens about 5 months ago that died and believe they had gapeworms. What do you think is this an egg in her poop and what else can I do. I do not have a vet in the area that treats chickens. TIA

Did nobody reply to this??? She sounds like she was eggbound. Did it resolve? Two of my hens had soft shell eggs for their first ones, and one of them had the same symptoms as yours. She was definitely egg bound because it came out with her poop overnight.
