hi ,my 3 peacocks have been couped up in a 10x10 temperary pen since i let them out of my house, after a few weeks after getting them as day olds
they have done fine, comming to the kitchen window, when opened, hand fed, when ever.
all three are tame, but one is soooo tame.
anyway, now they are starting to fly,and hitting the netting, which,as it is just bird repelant grade[ie,plastic mesh],rip it.
obviously,they want/need more space
i intend to free range them, one got out last week, and just stuck around, and went back into the pen when i got home!!,waiting!!,as if to say,"hello",where have you been?,wanted to get back into the pen!!!lol
i have to put flyers around the neighbourhood, before releasing them, but was planning on this in jan.
they are six months old now
i hate to let my babies out,as i am so attacted to them!!
kissing /cuddling them!!
i guess the time has come?!!!\\
mom has to let go??

I let mine out right at 4 months , they are comming 5 months old and only stray about 30 foot from their safe area late in the evening, the rest of the time they like to hang out in our dark 60 by 100 barn.

I am glade they don't go far cause they are so young and right now they are learning about preditor scares from my guineas and chickens.

I set up perches around the outside of the barn for them but the guineas and chickens use them more than the peas

What kind do you have cause i read the green ones are prone to fly away if you try to free range them like IB.

Do you have photos of your beauties?
