This is my first post and introduction. I have 6 RIR's, 2 Black Copper Marans, 2 Silkie (all under 8 weeks old). Recently bought 2 Buf Orpingtons (1year). I share a farm with my sister outside of Martinsburg, WVA and we have a great chicken coop on the property and decided to put it to use.
I "stumbled" onto some chickens when I bought an gas tank from Denis. I saw all these beautiful chickens and started asking him a ton of questions, next thing you know I meet his wife Carol and well here we are!!
I am widowed and have two wonderful children (16&17) and live in Alexandria, VA until my daughter finishes HS and is off to college, 1 more year and I can join my sister on the farm.
Carol (chicken junkies) told me about BYC, probably because I have been peppering her with so many questions she needed to send me somewhere
. I will be eternally grateful for her help and my first chickens.
Will continue to lurk but I did want to post a little bit about myself.
